Burgundy: Village to Grand Cru
6 items · 25 questions · by TastingParty.app Demo
Six burgundies served blind, climbing the ladder from humble Mâcon to a Premier Cru. Two grapes, one region, endless nuance: rate every glass, find it in the line-up, and discover whether your palate can taste the hierarchy before the price tags are revealed.
Shopping list
- Mâcon-Villages (any reputable producer, e.g. Cave de Lugny)
- Chablis Premier Cru (e.g. Fourchaume or Montée de Tonnerre)
- Meursault (village level)
- Bourgogne Rouge (Pinot Noir)
- Gevrey-Chambertin (village level)
- Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru
Expert note
Serve the whites at 10-12 °C and the reds at 14-16 °C, whites first. Use one large glass per person if you can; burgundy opens with air. Pour in the order A-F and keep the price tags hidden until the final reveal: the hierarchy question only works blind.
