Frequently asked questions
Everything you might wonder before hosting your first tasting.
Do my guests need to install an app? +
No. Guests join straight from their phone browser by scanning a QR code or entering a short join code, no account and no download needed. Only the host signs in.
How many people can join a tasting? +
The free plan supports up to 8 players, a single-party purchase up to 20, and the Tasting Club plan up to 50. Larger private events are available on the Professional plan.
What can I run a tasting for? +
Anything you can taste: wine, beer, whisky, rum, chocolate, coffee, cheese and more. You can start from a ready-made template or build your own line-up from scratch.
What is a blind tasting? +
In a blind tasting the identity of each item is hidden, so guests taste and score without being swayed by the label or price. TastingParty keeps every bottle a secret until you trigger the reveal, then shows the results on the big screen.
Do I need a big screen or TV? +
It is optional but adds a lot. Any TV, monitor or projector can be paired as the party display to show the join QR, live scores and reveals. Without one, the host console and players' phones still run the whole tasting.
Does it work without internet? +
No, TastingParty needs an internet connection because guests, the host and the display stay in sync in real time. Any normal home Wi-Fi or mobile data is plenty.
How much does it cost? +
You can host small tastings for free. A one-off larger party is a single purchase, and regular hosts can subscribe to the Tasting Club. See the pricing page for the current tiers and limits.
Can I reuse a tasting or share it with others? +
Yes. You can save your own tastings as templates to run again, and paid plans let you share sets and pull in ready-made question packs from the library.
Can I brand the tasting for my shop or venue? +
Yes. On the Professional plan you can put your own logo and colours on the player and display screens, so the whole experience carries your brand.
